Southborough Skip Hire You Can Count On

Southborough is a busy commuter town built along the A26 London Road, with a mix of Victorian and Edwardian terraces around the Common, post-war housing towards High Brooms, and more modern estates on the edges. Most of our Southborough jobs are domestic – kitchen and bathroom refits, loft conversions, garden clearances and driveway builds – with steady demand from small builders working on the older housing stock around Pennington Road, Yew Tree Road and the roads off London Road.

We cover the TN4 postcode across Southborough and High Brooms. We also deliver to the surrounding areas, including Bidborough, Speldhurst, Modest Corner, Nonsuch Green, Holden Park, Southborough Common and the north end of Royal Tunbridge Wells.

Council Skip Permits

A skip sitting on your driveway or any private land doesn’t need a permit. A permit is only required if the skip has to go on a public road, pavement or grass verge.

We sort the permit for you. Pick the road permit option when you book and we’ll put the application in with Kent County Council Highways on your behalf. The £100 fee covers the application and a 2-week permit. Please give us at least 5 working days before your preferred delivery date – councils won’t process permits any quicker than that.

Permit pricing is subject to change. Confirm the current rate at the time of booking.

Frequently Asked Questions

Only if the skip has to go on a public road or pavement - on a driveway or any private land, no permit is needed. For a road placement in Southborough you'll need a skip permit from Kent County Council Highways. The fee is £100 and covers a 2-week period. We take care of the application for you - just select the permit option when booking and allow at least 5 working days before delivery.

Prices depend on the skip size and your exact location. As a guide: a 4-yard skip from £190, 6-yard from £220, 8-yard from £250 and 12-yard from £355. All prices exclude VAT and are effective from January 2026. Prices may be higher depending on your area within Southborough, so get a quote to confirm your exact price.

For a full clearance, most customers go for an 8-yard builders skip. It holds roughly 80 bin bags, which covers a typical 3-bedroom home. A 4-yard skip is usually enough if you're only clearing one or two rooms. If you're emptying a larger Victorian or Edwardian property around Southborough Common or the streets off London Road, a 12-yard skip is worth considering - it saves the cost and delay of a second delivery.

Yes. We cover the whole TN4 area and the surrounding villages, including High Brooms, Bidborough, Speldhurst, Modest Corner, Holden Park and Nonsuch Green. We need a minimum of two working days' notice for all deliveries - get in touch to confirm availability for your postcode.
