Tunbridge Wells Skip Hire You Can Count On

Royal Tunbridge Wells is one of our busier western Kent areas. The town’s mix of period properties – Georgian townhouses near The Pantiles, Victorian and Edwardian homes around Mount Pleasant and Calverley Park – generates a steady demand for renovation skips, while newer housing in Hawkenbury, Sherwood and High Brooms keeps us delivering for extensions, landscaping and garden clearances.

We serve all Tunbridge Wells postcodes: TN1, TN2, TN3 and TN4. Our coverage extends to the surrounding areas, including Rusthall, Langton Green, Speldhurst, Bidborough, Pembury, Hawkenbury, High Brooms, Sherwood and Broadwater Down.

Council Skip Permits

Placing a skip on your own driveway or private land doesn’t require a permit. You’ll only need one if the skip has to sit on a public road, pavement or verge.

We handle the entire permit process on your behalf. Select the road permit option when booking and we’ll submit the application to Kent County Council Highways for you. The permit fee is £100 and covers a 2-week period. Please allow at least 5 working days before your planned delivery date – permit applications cannot be expedited.

Permit pricing is subject to change. Confirm the current rate at the time of booking.

Only if the skip needs to go on a public road or pavement. Skips placed on driveways or private land don't require a permit. For road placements, a skip permit from Kent County Council Highways is needed. The permit costs £100 and is valid for a 2-week period. Pricing varies by postcode and skip size. As a starting guide: a 4-yard skip from £190, 6-yard from £220, 8-yard from £250 and 12-yard from £355. All prices exclude VAT and are effective from January 2026. Prices may be higher depending on your specific location - get a quote to confirm your exact price.

An 8-yard builders skip is the most popular choice for full house clearances - it holds roughly 80 bin bags and suits the majority of properties. For a single room or small clear-out, a 4-yard skip is usually enough. If you're tackling a larger period property around Mount Pleasant or Calverley Park, consider stepping up to a 12-yard to avoid needing a second delivery.
