What happens to my waste after collection?

After collection, we sort and process waste at our state-of-the-art recycling facilities. Recyclable materials are reprocessed into new products, organic waste is composted, and non-recyclable materials are disposed of responsibly in compliance with environmental regulations. What sizes and types of collections do you offer?

We offer a variety of collection options to suit different needs, including:

  • Wheelie bins: Available in sizes such as 240L, 360L, 660L, and 1100L for general waste and recycling.
  • Front-end loaders (FEL): Ideal for larger commercial waste needs.

Can I recycle plasterboard?

Yes, here at Countrystyle we operate one of the largest plasterboard recycling facilities in Europe and process 100% of what we receive. We work in partnership with plasterboard manufacturer Knauf, promoting a closed-loop solution for plasterboard.

Can I recycle wood?

Yes, at our Ridham wood recycling facility we process a variety of mixed wood, including A-Grade (clean wood) and Dirty Wood (C-Grade). We produce a range of shredded products to supply panel board and green energy markets. Clean wood includes pallets, hardwood, and packing cases. Dirty Wood comprises plywood, floorboards, and laminate flooring.

Do you collect and recycle commercial food waste?

Yes, we collect commercial food waste in partnership with our sister company Verigreen. We provide cost-effective solutions to food waste and have exclusive access to the only commercial AD plant in Kent. This plant converts food waste into renewable energy and nutrient-rich biofertiliser.

Are there any advantages for my business to recycle?

Can I dispose of my business's electronic waste?

Yes, Countrystyle can collect your electronic waste, known as WEEE. This includes most electronic devices such as computers, phones, and tablets. The precious metals and components can be recovered and repurposed.

What is WEEE?

WEEE stands for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment. Countrystyle can help your business dispose of unwanted electrical items responsibly.

What size wheelie bins do you supply?

Countrystyle has a comprehensive service and offers a wide range of bin sizes to suit any commercial requirements.

Do you provide bulk haulage waste service?

Yes, Countrystyle has an extensive bulk haulage fleet including articulated, walking floor, bulk tipper trailers, and tankers for flexible and reliable logistics.

Do you supply commercial rear-end loaders?

Yes, we offer a range of rear-end loaders (RELs) with lockable lids for added security. They are an ideal solution for businesses that generate greater waste volumes than can be accommodated by wheelie bins.

What is a waste-to-energy plant?

A waste-to-energy plant burns waste to produce heat and power, serving as an alternative to landfill. This process creates renewable energy while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Are there benefits to recycling food waste?

Yes, recycling food waste saves money and reduces landfill waste. Recycling contributes to clean, green energy and produces nutrient-rich biofertiliser used in crop growth.

Contracts & Agreements

How long is a service agreement for?

The minimum service agreement is 24 months.

What happens when I get to the end of my contract?

Your contract will automatically renew for a further year unless you notify us at least 60 days prior to the end of your contract.

How do I cancel my contract at the end of its term?

You need to email us at least 60 days before the end of your contract to confirm cancellation.

How long does it take for my bins to be delivered?

Once we have a signed agreement, risk assessment, and payment plan, bins are delivered within 7 to 10 working days.

What is the Risk Assessment form for?

The risk assessment is for our collection crew to know how they will access the bins upon collection.

What happens if my bin is damaged?

Contact us, and we will assist in resolving the issue. Depending on the circumstances, there may be a replacement fee.

Are the bins lockable?

Yes all of our containers are lockable.

Can I change my collection frequency?

Yes, you can increase the service frequency of your recycling and waste collection whenever required. This is subject to availability on your service route.

Is there a delivery charge for the bins?

Yes, there is a charge for all new customer wheelie bin deliveries. This will be discussed during your initial consultation.

What is the excess charge for additional weight?

Any excess weight will be charged as agreed during your service consultation.

What is the difference between recycling and recovery?

Recycling turns waste into new products, while recovery uses waste to generate energy (e.g., anaerobic digestion or RDF processes).

Can I save money by recycling DMR?

Yes, recycling Dry Mixed Recyclables (DMR) is cost-effective and environmentally friendly. Contact us to arrange a waste audit.

How do I prepare my waste for collection?

Make sure waste is properly sorted into the correct bins. Avoid overfilling bins and ensure lids are closed. For bulky or hazardous items, contact us ahead of time for special instructions.

Troubleshooting

My bin wasn’t collected. What should I do?

If your bin was missed, please contact our friendly customer service team within 24 hours. We’ll investigate and arrange for a prompt resolution.
