Countrystyle Recycling was thrilled to partake in the Green School Awards 2023!
Nominations were received from schools all across the county, out of which 25 winners were selected. Each winner received certificates for their outstanding “Green Initiatives” including:
- tree planting
- produce growing (and donating to students / families / school kitchens / foodbanks)
- bee keeping
- creation of nature reserves, wildflower meadows, bug hotels and bird hides
- creation of forest schools including “jungle gyms”
- creation of outdoor sensory and mindfulness areas
- composting
- walking buses
- beach cleans
- litter picking
- pre-loved clothes, school uniform and book sales
- upcycling unwanted items
- and an impressive community bottle refilling shop
Our Sales Director, Ben Dudley, attended on our behalf and commented “Countrystyle was proud to be involved in this event and was thrilled by the determination of both teachers and young people to protect the environment and the natural resources in their local area. Kent is in good hands if schools are helping young people to understand the issues faced by the environment and the impact, we as humans are putting on it. We look forward to supporting future events.”
