Wood recycling benefits the environment in many ways. It extends the material’s lifespan, cuts landfill waste, and conserves natural resources, helping to reduce the felling of virgin wood for manufacturing. When you recycle with Countrystyle, you can have peace of mind that your waste wood is being put to good use. Other benefits include:

How does commercial wood collection work?
Our commercial wood waste collection service is a convenient and cost-effective way for businesses across Kent and the South East to recycle their wood waste.
We can deliver skips and RoRo’s to your premises and collect them at a convenient time for you. We also offer bulk haulage solutions for very large volumes of waste.
If your business generates wood waste, you have a duty of care under the Environmental Protection Act to ensure it is disposed of correctly. Waste transfer must also be properly documented.
Countrystyle is fully compliant with all relevant legislation for handling and processing waste. Our team will also provide full documentation and audit trails, including waste transfer notes.
How does wood recycling work?
At Countrystyle Recycling, our wood recycling process involves the collection and processing of different grades of waste wood such as chipboard, pallets, and MDF. We offer commercial wood waste collection to gather unwanted wood efficiently. Then, at our wood recycling facility in Ridham, the process can begin.
- Sorting. The wood is sorted into different grades based on quality and wood type.
- Processing. Once sorted, the wood is cleaned and shredded.
- Repurposing. Recycled wood is then turned into products such as biomass fuel and mulch.
- (Re)distribution. The recycled wood products are then distributed for use in diverse industries.
Can you recycle....
As the wood recycling experts, we get asked the following questions time and again. If you’re wondering what your business can recycle, read on.
Can wood go in the recycling bin?
Your business may well have a recycling bin for paper and cardboard, but wood and timber are not accepted in this bin type. As a more environmentally friendly alternative than putting all your wood in a skip, get in touch with the experts at Countrystyle Recycling who can talk to you about your wood recycling options.
Can wood be recycled many times?
Recycling wood diverts wood waste from landfills and helps to conserve natural resources, contributing to the circular economy model of waste management.
While wood can be recycled multiple times, it cannot be recycled indefinitely. With each recycling cycle, wood fibres degrade, limiting the number of times that wood can be effectively recycled into new products.
Can you recycle painted wood?
Painted wood can be challenging to recycle due to the chemicals in the paint. As such, painted wood is often downcycled or used as fuel rather than fully recycled.
Can you recycle wood furniture?
Yes, wood furniture can be recycled, especially if the wood used is untreated.
Can you recycle wood shavings?
Yes, wood shavings can be recycled, especially if they are untreated.
Can you recycle wood with nails?
Yes, wood with nails can be recycled. Nails are typically removed during the recycling process as part of the sorting and cleaning stages. After these materials are removed, the wood can then be processed into other products.
