Countrystyle Recycling has announced several key appointments to its senior and middle management team, providing a clear indication of the company’s increasing strength in the marketplace and the aim to ensure the business is best placed to continue to win new contracts across Kent, the South East and beyond.

The expansion sees Chris Howard, previously Commercial Director at Countrystyle, appointed as Managing Director, Kevin Hanson appointed as General Manager of Countrystyle’s state-of-the-art Ridham facility, Stuart Markham joining the team from FCC as Environment & Planning Manager, and Alex Bardsley, previously from London Borough of Richmond upon Thames Council, joining Countrystyle as the company’s Local Authorities Account Manager.

Countrystyle has also announced an expansion to its sales and support teams with new team members coming on board to provide bespoke and responsive services for its growing client base.

“Our objective is simple – to provide tailored resource management services that exceed customer expectation, drive innovation and set the market standard for sustainable quality end products,” states Chris Howard. “With our management team strengthened, we are confident that we can meet this aim and provide customers with reliable and responsive recycling and recovery services in a professional manner.”

Chris Howard joined Countrystyle in August 2009 following 15 years’ experience working within the waste and recycling sector. Chris’s new role of Managing Director formalises the role he has undertaken throughout the current financial year. Chris, at the helm of the senior management team, has been key in driving profitability across the Countrystyle Group and has directed many of the new initiatives such as Countrystyle’s successful RDF line and processed wood export operations.

Kevin Hanson has served both home and abroad in the waste management industry, having spent most of his career working for Veolia Environmental Services UK in the south east and south west regions but also working further afield in the Middle East, acquiring invaluable international knowledge of the waste industry. Kevin’s track record in improving contract performance and increasing efficiency will be key to his new role at Countrystyle.

Stuart Markham will be joining Countrystyle in January 2015 from FCC where he has worked for nine years in Project Development. Stuart has a detailed knowledge of the renewables sector and the planning process, as well as considerable experience of dealing with regulatory stakeholders and understanding the needs of operational sites.

Alex Bardsley worked as an Account Manager on development projects such as The Shard, One New Change and Lloyds of London before, in 2012, joining London Borough of Richmond upon Thames Council as a Business Relationship Manager. Alex’s experience of working in the public sector means he understands and appreciates the processes involved and can respond more effectively to Local Authority client requirements.
