Sustainable Coffee Grounds Recycling
Countrystyle Recycling, along with sister company Envar Composting, is on a mission to lower the impact of coffee waste on the environment. Currently the UK produces over 250,000 tonnes of spent coffee grounds waste per year and this is set to grow. Coffee waste that ends up in landfill produces green house gases.
A greener brew: helping Kent businesses with ground coffee recycling
Kent coffee shops and other businesses generate a substantial amount of used coffee grounds, traditionally destined for the landfill. This not only contributes to waste accumulation which poses environmental concerns but also increases the cost of their general waste disposal. For businesses committed to sustainability and recycling, Countrystyle offer a viable and eco-friendly solution to manage this waste. Contact our team today to find out more.

How are coffee grounds recycled?

We provide a variety of containers from 40 litre caddies to wheelie bins for coffee grounds disposal and arrange convenient options for collection as often as required. After Countrystyle have collected the coffee grounds, they are transported to Countrystyle’s sister company Envar Composting. On arrival at Envar’s facility, they undergo thorough cleaning and processing. This preparation is crucial for developing innovative products from recycled coffee grounds.
Current projects include the creation of coffee pellets designed for gardeners and the horticultural market. Additionally, Envar collaborates with partners to develop sustainable bio-products such as coffee bricks, an eco-friendly fuel from the coffee grounds.
