Within the stockpiled material was soil and evidence of non-licensed asbestos material that had been processed along with the general demolition material. The total volume of the stockpiled material was estimated to be 2,500m³.
The Brief
The client had a development site in Dover on which the buildings had been previously demolished, and the arisings stockpiled.
The Challenge
The development site was located in central Dover, surrounded by flats and houses on all sides and as such, minimising disruption and nuisance was paramount.
The proximity of the residential units to the site dictated that screening the stockpiled material was not a suitable solution. During the course of the works, a war time Anderson Shelter was located within the site area below one of the stockpiles of material to be removed.
Our Role
Countrystyle were able to provide a comprehensive service to our client, planning and managing the removal of the stockpiled material and safely and compliantly dispose of the Asbestos Containing Materials identified.
On discovering the Anderson Shelter within the site area, the Countrystyle team worked quickly to mitigate any disruption to the work programme while ensuring that the site was left safe and secure on completion of our works.
Countrystyle Recycling was able to draw on the capability with the company group structure to remove the stockpiled material safely and efficiently from the site within just 2 weeks.
