Sustainability
Less Waste.
More Impact.
At Countrystyle Recycling, sustainability isn’t a future ambition, it’s how we work today.
We’re committed to recovering more materials, reducing carbon emissions, and supporting the communities we serve across the South East. We turn waste into new resources, operate with transparency, and continually invest in cleaner, smarter ways of working. Our goal is simple: deliver waste management that makes a positive environmental impact for our customers and the region.

Our Sustainability Focus
Reducing Carbon and Improving Efficiency
- Our ambition: Net Zero by 2040.
Transitioning our fleet to HVO biofuel, cutting carbon emissions by up to 89%.
Trialling electric vehicles and rolling out on-site charging infrastructure.
Using smart routing and co-location to significantly reduce carbon miles.
Powering our operations with 100% renewable electricity.
Independently measuring our carbon footprint through Planet Mark certification.
Building a Circular Economy
We specialise in keeping materials out of landfill and in use for longer. Our circular approach transforms waste into valuable resources across multiple streams:
Plasterboard
We operate the UK’s largest dedicated plasterboard recycling facility, processing over 120,000 tonnes a year. 100% of materials are repurposed into new gypsum and paper for manufacturing.
Wood
Food Waste
Dry Mixed Recycling
Coffee Grounds
In partnership with Envar, we transform coffee waste into low-carbon fuels and soil-enhancing products.
Result: consistent 97%+ landfill diversion, with a clear commitment to zero avoidable landfill.
Protecting Nature and Enhancing Biodiversity
From habitat creation to land improvement, we work to protect and enrich local environments across the South East. Our environmental initiatives include:
- Habitat creation and management with Habitat Regeneration and FGS Agri.
- River walk improvements and green space enhancement.
- Distributing wildlife habitats made from recycled timber — including bird boxes, hedgehog homes and insect hotels.
- Supporting landowners and councils with sustainable land management.
Sponsor the Green School Awards and deliver recycling workshops in local schools.
Support the Young Lives Foundation, including charity challenges and fundraising.
Provide inclusive employment opportunities, including routes for ex-offenders.

Stories of Waste Turned Into Resource
Our Progress
Every year we process hundreds of thousands of tonnes of waste, increase recycling rates, and expand our circular systems.
Through Planet Mark certification, we report our carbon footprint openly and continue working towards our long-term reduction targets.
We’re committed to delivering sustainable waste management that makes a real difference — for our customers, our communities, and our environment.
