New Romney Skip Hire You Can Count On

New Romney is a historic Cinque Port town at the heart of the Marsh. You’ve got period cottages along the High Street, bungalow estates on the edge of town, and newer housing stretching out towards Littlestone and Greatstone. Skip hire demand here is a mix of coastal property refurbishments, holiday let fit-outs, farm and outbuilding clearances, and the occasional bigger job down near the seafront. Narrow lanes and long marsh-road access are the norm – worth a mention when you call so we can plan delivery around them.

We cover the TN28 postcode and serve the wider Romney Marsh, including Littlestone-on-Sea, Greatstone, St Mary’s Bay, Dymchurch, Old Romney, Brookland, Ivychurch and Brenzett.

Council Skip Permits

Putting the skip on a driveway or private land? No permit needed. Permits only come into play when the skip has to sit on a public road, pavement or verge.

We sort the permit out for you. Tick the road permit option when you book and we’ll submit the application to Kent County Council Highways on your behalf. The charge is £100 and covers a 2-week window. Please allow at least 5 working days between ordering and delivery – permit applications can’t be fast-tracked.

Frequently Asked Questions

Depends where the skip's going. On your drive or private land, no permit is required. If it has to stand on a public road or pavement, you'll need a skip permit from Kent County Council Highways. The fee is £100 and covers a 2-week period. We handle the application for you — just select the permit option when you book and allow at least 5 working days before your delivery date.

Price depends on your postcode and the skip size. As a guide: a 4-yard skip from £190, 6-yard from £220, 8-yard from £250 and 12-yard from £355. All prices exclude VAT and are effective from January 2026. Get a quote to confirm your exact price.

For a full clearance, most New Romney customers go for an 8-yard builders skip. It holds around 80 bin bags, which is enough for most properties. If you're only clearing a room or two, a 4-yard skip usually does the job. Taking on a larger detached property out towards Littlestone or Greatstone with garage and outbuildings? A 12-yard often saves a second delivery.

Yes. We cover the whole of Romney Marsh, including Littlestone-on-Sea, Greatstone, St Mary's Bay, Dymchurch, Old Romney, Brookland, Brenzett and Ivychurch. We ask for a minimum of two working days' notice on all deliveries. Get in touch to confirm availability for your postcode.

Standard hire is 1-2 weeks. After that, extensions are available at £50 per week. If you're midway through a project and need more time, just get in touch and we'll arrange it.
