Lydd Skip Hire You Can Count On

Lydd is one of the oldest towns in Kent, sitting out on the Marsh between New Romney and Dungeness. It’s a mix of old High Street cottages, bungalows and newer estates around Dennes Lane and Jubilee Close, with a steady flow of renovation work, garden clearances, shed and outbuilding strip-outs, and commercial projects tied to the airport and the ranges. We drop skips onto driveways, farmyards and building sites across the town.

We cover all Lydd postcodes under TN29. That includes Lydd-on-Sea, Dungeness, Greatstone, Littlestone and the surrounding villages of Brenzett, Brookland, Old Romney and Ivychurch.

Council Skip Permits

Skips sitting on a driveway or any private land don’t need a permit. A permit is only required if the skip has to go on a public road, pavement or verge.

We’ll handle the permit application on your behalf. Tick the road permit option when you book and we’ll lodge the application with Kent County Council Highways. The fee is £100 and covers a 2-week period. Please allow at least 5 working days before your delivery date – these can’t be rushed through any quicker.

Permit pricing is subject to change. Confirm the current rate at the time of booking.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not if the skip is on your driveway or private land. If it needs to sit on a public road or pavement - common on the older High Street properties and terraces - you'll need a skip permit from Kent County Council Highways. The fee is £100 for a 2-week period and we submit the application for you. Just tick the permit option at booking and allow at least 5 working days before your delivery date.

It comes down to the skip size and your exact location. As a guide: a 4-yard skip from £190, 6-yard from £220, 8-yard from £250 and 12-yard from £355. All prices exclude VAT and are effective from January 2026. Get a quote for your TN29 address to confirm the exact figure.

For a whole-property clearance, an 8-yard builders skip is the one most people go for - it takes around 80 bin bags, which handles most homes. If you're only clearing a room or two, a 4-yard skip is usually plenty. For a larger Marsh farmhouse or a bungalow with a lot of outbuildings, it's worth sizing up to a 12-yard to avoid the cost and hassle of a second skip.

Yes. We cover the whole of Lydd and the surrounding Marsh, including Dungeness, Lydd-on-Sea, Greatstone, Littlestone, Brenzett, Brookland, Old Romney and Ivychurch. We ask for a minimum of two working days' notice for all deliveries. Get in touch and we'll confirm availability for your postcode.

Standard hire runs to 1-2 weeks. If you need it for longer, extensions are £50 per week. If your project runs over, give us a call and we'll sort it.
