Council Skip Permits
Placing a skip on your own driveway or private land? No permit is required. You only need one if the skip will sit on a public road, pavement or verge.
We handle the entire permit process for you – just select the road permit option when you book and we’ll submit the application to Kent County Council Highways on your behalf. The fee is £100, covering a 2-week placement. Make sure to allow at least 5 working days before your delivery date, as permit applications cannot be fast-tracked.

Frequently Asked Questions
Only if the skip is going on a public road or pavement. If it's sitting on your driveway or any other private land, no permit is required. For road placements, a skip permit is issued by Kent County Council Highways. The cost is £100 and it covers a 2-week period. We take care of the application for you - choose the permit option when booking and allow at least 5 working days before your delivery date.
Pricing is based on your postcode and the skip size you choose. As a guide: a 4-yard skip starts from £190, 6-yard from £220, 8-yard from £250 and 12-yard from £355. All prices exclude VAT and are effective from January 2026. Request a quote to confirm the exact price for your location.
An 8-yard builder's skip is the most popular choice for a full house clearance - it holds roughly 80 bin bags and covers the contents of most properties. For a single room or small bathroom refit, a 4-yard skip is usually enough. If you're tackling a larger property, particularly one of the bigger detached houses around Kennington or Great Chart, it may be worth going for a 12-yard to avoid needing a second delivery.
Yes. We deliver across the entire Ashford borough and the surrounding rural areas, including Wye, Charing, Aldington, Hamstreet, Great Chart, Kingsnorth, Mersham, Brabourne, Bethersden and Woodchurch. We ask for a minimum of two working days' notice for all deliveries. Get in touch to confirm availability for your postcode.
Standard hire is 1-2 weeks. If your project runs longer, extensions are available at £50 per week. Just let us know and we'll update your booking.
