RoRo Skip Hire and Container Hire for Busy Sites

A roll on roll off skip, or RoRo, is a large open or enclosed container delivered and collected by a hook-loader lorry. You will also hear it called a RoRo bin or a roll on roll off bin. We supply them from 15 to 40 cubic yards. It is what sites turn to when a standard skip fills too quickly – when you’re working on projects that demand your full attention, having a reliable and efficient solution is essential.

Our RoRo container hire covers commercial and industrial sites, with roll on roll off containers delivered on a schedule that fits your site.

What Can I Put in My RoRo Container?

RoRos handle most segregated waste, including construction materials, wood recycling, scrap metal, and recyclables. Keeping loads segregated keeps your costs down and your recycling rates up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Don’y see your question? Call our Ashford team on 0344 880 7700.

A standard skip is lifted onto a lorry by chains. A RoRo is winched on and off a hook-loader, which is why it can be much bigger: the smallest we run holds roughly twice what a large builder's skip does. The trade-off is access, since a RoRo needs firm, level ground and room for the lorry to reverse and tip.

It depends on what the waste weighs rather than what it looks like. Dense material such as soil, rubble and hardcore is better in a lower-sided 15 or 20yd, which is easier to load and reaches its limit on weight. Light, bulky material such as timber, packaging and strip-out waste suits the taller 30, 35 and 40yd sizes. If in doubt, tell us what the job is and we'll size it.

RoRos take most segregated waste, including construction materials, wood, scrap metal and dry mixed recyclables. Hazardous, liquid and electrical waste are not accepted; check our waste specification or ask about a specialist service.

Take an open-top if you are loading over the side, which is most construction and demolition work. Take an enclosed one if the load needs to stay put and stay private: they are sealed and have lockable rear doors, which is why they suit dry mixed recycling and anything sensitive.

Yes, and across London and the wider South East as well. If you are unsure whether your site is on our patch, it is worth a quick call rather than a guess.

That is set around your site. Some customers run a regular exchange, others call a collection when the container is full. A larger RoRo means fewer collections and less disruption.
