Dover Skip Hire You Can Count On
Dover sits at the southeastern tip of Kent, a busy port town shaped by its position as the closest English point to mainland Europe. There’s a steady stream of skip hire work here – from terraced streets in the town centre and Buckland to newer housing developments in Whitfield and family homes across River and Kearsney. Whether you’re renovating, clearing a garden or managing construction waste, we have the right skip for the job.
We serve all Dover postcodes: CT15, CT16 and CT17. We also cover the surrounding areas, including Whitfield, Temple Ewell, Capel-le-Ferne, Guston, Kearsney, Lydden, Alkham, St Margaret’s at Cliffe and Maxton.

Council Skip Permits
Placing a skip on your own driveway or private property? No permit is required. A permit only applies when the skip needs to sit on a public road, pavement or verge.
We handle the full permit application on your behalf. Choose the road permit option when you book and we’ll submit the paperwork to Kent County Council Highways. The fee is £100 and covers a period of up to 2 weeks. Make sure to allow at least 5 working days before your planned delivery date – permit applications cannot be fast-tracked.

Frequently Asked Questions
Only if the skip is going on a public road or pavement. If it's being placed on a driveway or private land, no permit is needed. For public highway placement, a skip permit is required from Kent County Council Highways. The cost is £100 and covers up to 2 weeks. We take care of the application for you - just select the road permit option when booking and allow at least 5 working days before your delivery date.
Pricing depends on your postcode and the size of skip you need. As a guide: a 4-yard skip starts from £190, 6-yard from £220, 8-yard from £250 and 12-yard from £355. All prices exclude VAT and are effective from January 2026. Get a quote to confirm your exact price.
An 8-yard builder's skip is the most popular choice for a full house clearance - it holds around 80 bin bags, which covers most homes. If you're only clearing a couple of rooms, a 4-yard skip will normally do it. For larger properties, particularly some of the older detached houses around River and Kearsney, it's worth stepping up to a 12-yard to avoid a second delivery.
Absolutely. We cover the whole Dover district, including Whitfield, Temple Ewell, Capel-le-Ferne, Guston, Kearsney, Lydden, Alkham, St Margaret's at Cliffe and Maxton. We ask for a minimum of two working days' notice for all deliveries. Get in touch to confirm availability for your postcode.
Standard hire runs for 1-2 weeks. If your project needs more time, extensions are available at £50 per week. Just let us know before your hire period ends and we'll arrange the extra time.
