DS Smith in partnership with Countrystyle have been shortlisted as one of the finalist for the Waste Prevention award category at this year’s MRW National Recycling Awards taking place at the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane, London on the 1st July 2015.
DS Smith operate the second biggest recovered fibre based paper operation in Europe, Kemsley Mill in Kent. Working in partnership, Countrystyle is now able to recycle 12,000tpa of Ragger Rope. These ropes are a by-product of the paper pulping process. They consist of metal wire, which is continually pulled through the pulper to remove contaminants from the paper pulp such as plastic. The Ragger Ropes were previously sent to landfill.
