Council Skip Permits

Placing a skip on your own driveway or private land doesn’t require a permit. A permit is only necessary when the skip will be positioned on a public road, pavement or verge.

We manage the permit process on your behalf. When you book, choose the road permit option and we’ll submit the application to Medway Council for you. The fee is £100, covering a 2-week period. Please allow a minimum of 5 working days before your planned delivery – permit applications cannot be expedited.

Permit pricing is subject to change. Confirm the current rate at the time of booking.

Frequently Asked Questions

Only if the skip needs to go on a public road or pavement. If it's sitting on your driveway or private land, no permit is required. For road placements, you'll need a skip permit from Medway Council. The cost is £100 and covers a 2-week period. We handle the application for you - just select the permit option when you book and allow at least 5 working days before your delivery date.

Pricing depends on the skip size and your postcode. For Gillingham, our current rates start at: 4-yard skip from £190, 6-yard from £220, 8-yard from £250 and 12-yard from £355. All prices exclude VAT and are effective from January 2026. Request a quote for your confirmed price.

An 8-yard builders skip is the most popular choice for a full house clearance. It holds roughly 80 bin bags, which suits most properties. If you're only tackling one or two rooms, a 4-yard skip should be enough. For larger clearances - a three-bed semi with a garage and loft, for example - consider a 12-yard skip to avoid the need for a second delivery.

Yes. We deliver across the whole Gillingham and Rainham area, covering Rainham, Wigmore, Hempstead, Parkwood, Twydall, Brompton, Capstone and Luton. We ask for a minimum of two working days' notice for all deliveries. Contact us to check availability for your postcode.
