Council Skip Permits
Placing a skip on your own driveway or private land doesn’t require a permit. You’ll only need one if the skip has to go on a public road, pavement or verge.
We handle the full permit application on your behalf – just select the road permit option when you book. The cost is £100 for a 2-week permit period. You’ll need to allow at least 5 working days before your planned delivery date, as Kent County Council Highways cannot fast-track applications.

Frequently Asked Questions
Only if the skip is going on a public road or pavement. Skips placed on driveways and other private land don't need a permit. For road placements, a skip permit is required from Kent County Council Highways. The fee is £100, covering a 2-week period. We submit the application on your behalf - choose the road permit option when booking and make sure to allow at least 5 working days before your delivery date.
It depends on the skip size and your exact location. For Sittingbourne, prices start from £190 for a 4-yard skip, £220 for a 6-yard, £250 for an 8-yard and £355 for a 12-yard. All prices exclude VAT and are effective from January 2026. Request a quote to get your confirmed price.
An 8-yard builders skip is the most popular choice for a full house clearance - it holds roughly 80 bin bags and suits most properties. A 4-yard skip works well for clearing a single room or a couple of smaller spaces. If you're tackling a larger family home around Kemsley or one of the older terraces in Milton Regis, it's worth considering a 12-yard to avoid needing a second delivery.
Absolutely. We cover the whole Sittingbourne area, including Bapchild, Tunstall, Rodmersham, Bobbing, Iwade, Newington, Teynham, Kemsley, Milton Regis and Murston. We ask for a minimum of two working days' notice for all deliveries. Get in touch to check availability for your postcode.
Our standard hire period is 1-2 weeks. If your project runs longer, we offer extensions at £50 per week. Just let us know before the hire period ends and we'll update your booking.
