Strood Skip Hire You Can Count On

Strood sits on the west bank of the Medway, across the bridge from Rochester, and it keeps us busy. The mix of Victorian terraces near the station, post-war estates around Temple Farm, newer riverside developments at Strood Waterfront and the industrial units off the A228 means we’re regularly delivering for everything from small home refurbs to full trade clearances.

We cover all Strood postcodes, primarily ME2, along with the surrounding villages and hamlets. That includes Frindsbury, Wainscott, Upnor, Cuxton, Halling, Chattenden and parts of Higham.

Council Skip Permits

Putting the skip on your driveway or any private land? No permit needed. If it’s going on a public road, pavement or verge anywhere in Strood, you’ll need permission from Medway Council, who act as the highways authority here rather than Kent County Council.

We sort the permit for you. Just pick the road permit option at the point of booking, and we’ll submit the application to Medway Council on your behalf. The £100 fee covers a 2-week period on-road. Build in at least 5 working days before your planned delivery date – permit applications can’t be fast-tracked.

Permit pricing is subject to change. Confirm the current rate at the time of booking.

It depends on the size and your exact delivery address. As a starting point: a 4-yard skip from £190, a 6-yard from £220, an 8-yard from £250 and a 12-yard from £355. Prices exclude VAT and are effective from January 2026. Get a quote to lock in your exact price.

For a full clearance, most Strood customers go with an 8-yard builders skip - about 80 bin bags' worth, which handles most properties. Clearing just a room or two? A 4-yard skip is usually plenty. Stepping up to a 12-yard is worth it for the bigger Victorian terraces near the station or larger family homes out towards Wainscott, where a single skip saves you the cost of a second delivery.

Yes. We serve all of Strood and the surrounding Medway villages, including Frindsbury, Wainscott, Upnor, Cuxton, Halling, Chattenden and Higham. We need a minimum of two working days' notice for delivery. Drop us a line to confirm availability for your postcode.
