Chatham Skip Hire You Can Count On

Chatham is one of the busiest hubs in the Medway towns. Between the Historic Dockyard, the Pentagon shopping area in the town centre, and residential estates like Walderslade, Luton, Davis Estate and Wayfield, there’s a constant stream of renovation, fit-out and construction work. We drop skips on driveways, behind shops and on building sites across all of it – from Victorian terraces near New Road through to the newer developments at Chatham Maritime and Horsted.

We serve both Chatham postcodes: ME4 and ME5. We also cover the surrounding neighbourhoods, including Luton, Walderslade, Wayfield, Weedswood, Princes Park, Davis Estate, Horsted, Lordswood and Chatham Maritime.

Council Skip Permits

Skips placed on a driveway or any other private land don’t need a permit. A permit is only required when the skip has to sit on a public road, pavement or verge.

We arrange the permit for you. Tick the road permit option when you book and we’ll submit the application to Medway Council on your behalf. The fee is £100 and covers a 2-week period. Leave at least 5 working days before your requested delivery date – permit applications cannot be rushed through the council.

Permit pricing is subject to change. Confirm the current rate at the time of booking.

Frequently Asked Questions

Only if the skip is going on a public road or pavement. Private land - driveways, gardens, off-street parking - doesn't need a permit. For anything on a public highway in Chatham, the permit is issued by Medway Council. The fee is £100 and covers a 2-week period. We handle the paperwork when you book; just allow at least 5 working days before your delivery date.

Prices start from £190 for a 4-yard skip, £220 for a 6-yard, £250 for an 8-yard and £355 for a 12-yard. All prices exclude VAT and are effective from January 2026. Chatham sits within our standard delivery area for the Medway towns - get a quote for your postcode to confirm the final figure.

For a full clearance, most Chatham homeowners go with an 8-yard builder's skip, which holds around 80 bin bags. A 4-yard skip usually covers one or two rooms. If you're clearing a larger property - a four-bed on Walderslade or a Victorian terrace off New Road, for example - it's worth sizing up to the 12-yard to save the cost of a second delivery.

Yes. We cover the whole of Chatham, including Luton, Walderslade, Wayfield, Davis Estate, Princes Park, Weedswood, Horsted, Lordswood and Chatham Maritime, plus the surrounding Medway area. We need a minimum of two working days' notice for all deliveries. Give us a call to confirm availability for your postcode.

Standard hire is 1-2 weeks. After that, extensions are £50 per week. If you're partway through a bigger project and need more time, just get in touch before the hire ends and we'll keep the skip on site.
