As a community-driven business, Countrystyle has continuously supported educational institutions across Kent and further afield. This week, Countrystyle welcomed a group of current and former students from Canterbury Christ Church University, working through Unitemps – the University’s recruitment agency, as part of their summer work placement programme.
The four students and graduates from different faculties including Law, Business and Psychology were given the opportunity to work alongside the Business Development and Logistics teams for a fortnight to acquire first-hand experience working with our HR, sales and marketing software.
Sophie and Steve assisted in the migration of compliance documentation to the Cascade HR system; whilst the rest of the group worked with Countrystyle’s new CRM system, HubSpot, undertaking crucial database administration as the system is integrated within the business.
Commenting on the programme, Toby Lucas-Smith, Enterprise and Engagement Manager at Canterbury Christ Church University, said:
“It is great to give the students the opportunity to work within a real business – not only does this provide them valuable experience in the world of work, they can also learn how a business operates. We have worked with Countrystyle on a number of initiatives across the University, including our waste segregation and recycling drive in the canteen areas. Now the students placed at Countrystyle can experience the collaboration across departments and see how every role is vital in delivering a service.”
Account & Bid Support Manager, Dan Boddington followed:
“Countrystyle has been Canterbury Christ Church University’s waste management supplier since 2016 and we are thrilled to be working with them for the University’s summer work placement programme. Countrystyle is currently going through an exciting change in the business as it expands towards Cambridgeshire and the work undertaken by the students will be vital for us.”
