The Challenge

Countrystyle and Bennett Opie have enjoyed a strong partnership for over a decade. Initially, we provided a comprehensive waste management solution for general waste, wood, and cardboard at their Sittingbourne factory. Over time, our collaborative approach has helped Bennett Opie improve recycling rates, adopt best practices, and achieve significant cost efficiencies.

Building on this success, Bennett Opie asked us to support their ambitious sustainability targets:

The Solution

With established processes already in place for their three main waste streams, we were able to introduce stricter segregation and optimise bulk collections. By enhancing waste segregation, Bennet Opie were not only saving money but generating revenue from improved cardboard recycling.

A key improvement was the installation of a portable compactor for general waste. This addressed previous challenges with liquid retention and disposal, while also introducing a drain-off system. Acidic liquids are now directed into an effluent tank, reducing both collection frequency and disposal costs.

Countrystyle have helped us to attain 100% landfill diversion, they have also been an instrumental partner in ensuring that Floplast are up to speed with all current innovations and regulations.
