CANTERBURY CHRIST CHURCH UNIVERSITY
Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) recognises its significant role in protecting and enhancing the wider environment. To date, the University has developed a dedicated framework for sustainability, achieving and maintaining an ISO14001 accreditation for its Environmental Management System through the EcoCampus programme.
Since 2013, the University upholds a zero waste to landfill ethos, making great strides in reducing its carbon footprint, investing in sustainable materials and buildings and making sustainability a central concept in its plans for the future development of the estate.
CCCU and Countrystyle have worked together on initiatives to create a coherent, co-branded campaign designed to increase onsite segregation and reduce mixed recyclables contamination for students and staff. Over CCCU’s multiple campuses, the message is consistent and communicated clearly for both UK and international students to help meet the university’s green targets.
Working closely with CCCU, Countrystyle has created designs which are co-branded and deliver a clear, youthful message that appeals to all students. Colour co-ordination and iconography were included in the design to ensure the message was clear and coherent for all students. Cross marketing communications are used alongside recycling bins to create a consistent message. Together this has significantly increased segregation, reduced contamination and increased rebate opportunities.
