Countrystyle is pleased to announce that is has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Wood Recycling Business of the Year in the 2019 Awards for Excellence in Recycling and Waste Management.
The awards, now in their 16th year are organised by letsrecycle.com and are designed to recognise innovation, dedication and success within the waste and recycling industries, local authorities and the wider sector. Winners are announced at a luncheon and Awards Ceremony on 9th May at the Landmark Hotel, London and hosted by a guest celebrity, still to be announced.
Commenting on behalf of Countrystyle, Director of Compliance Stuart Butler-Gallie said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted as a finalist for the Wood Recycling Business of the Year. Countrystyle is dedicated to leading the way for Wood Recycling practices. We’ve adopted new systems, processes & technology and have succeeded in securing one of only a handful of bespoke wood permits in the UK. We eagerly await the results on the 9th May”.
The Category, sponsored by Fireward, is designed to recognise the work done by a wood recycling business, small or large operating in the UK which has provided a service in a consistent and thorough way for its customers. Entries included evidence of the levels of recycling achieved and indications that customers have been well-cared for in terms of service delivery, reporting and follow-up of any concerns. The category is also used to distinguish companies that are seen as an example of good practice for the sector or sectors in which it operates.
Entries were received from across the Country and presented to an expert judging panel which consisted of: Jacob Hayler, executive director, Environmental Services Association; Carole Taylor, chair of LARAC; Julia Turner, executive director, Wood Recyclers Association; Robbie Warden, chair of the Resource Association; and Steve Eminton, editor of letsrecycle.com.
Praising the variety of entries and ongoing enthusiasm in the sector, Mr Eminton, editor of letsrecycle.com said: “New ideas and solutions abounded in the entries this year and the judges were also pleased to see a number of projects looking to reduce and provide better solutions for plastic waste.”
